Trustlink Garden Ride Friday 1 November 2019 Posted on 18 Oct 2019

Garden Ride is a free event on 1st November 2019, hosted by Southend’s local mental health and wellbeing charity Trust Links, and ForwardMotion. The event offers the community the opportunity to visit any or all of our community gardens in South East Essex on a bike or on foot.

We will be specially opening up our community gardens, providing refreshments and fun activities. People can ride to their nearest garden, or sign up for one of our guided walks and rides. Everyone is welcome, but to receive your free refillable bottle and bag, you must be booked to attend a guided ride or walk! Along with refreshments and a chance to socialise with your local community, we will have a smoothie bike at the Mendip Wildlife gardens, giving people the chance to make their own homemade healthy smoothies!

We are inviting riders and walkers to get active and visit as many sites as they can! Not only do Trust Links aim to provide support for carers and people living with mental health struggles, but we are also a green organisation that strives to promote sustainable living and community engagement, and we couldn’t think or a better way to get people involved!

Our morning sessions for the guided ride and guided walk will begin at The Royals Shopping Centre in Southend High Street, with our afternoon ride taking place from our Growing Together Westcliff site. To book your place, and find more information about the gardens you could ride or walk to, please visit www.gardenride.org. Remember, you must book your place to attend a guided ride or walk and receive your freebies! To keep up with future events and hear what’s happening at one of our gardens near you, follow Trust Links on social media @TrustLinksLtd.

If you are a bit less confident on the roads, and would like to get more active and build your confidence enough to join us on Garden Ride, you can still join us! Come and attend our FREE cycle training course lead by ForwardMotion! There are two sessions being held on October 25th, which will begin at Growing Together Westcliff, and lead you to Priory Park. To sign up, please visit www.gardenride.org/cycle-training.
